“We wanted to expand the idea of downtown LA dining. We had in mind a sort of LA version of Havana in the fifties.

We had taken two trips to Spain in search of ideas for the TV shows and had visited Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Chile, El Salvador and Miami as part of our research for the United Airlines menu. When this big, airy space in downtown LA became available, we decided to open a hip, urban, modern place, similar in feeling to our original restaurant, City on La Brea. The view from the patio at night with the skyscrapers lighting up the sky is wonderfully futuristic.” —Chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken

*Ciudad uses seasonal, locally grown ingredients, including 100% Certified Organic rice, black beans, eggs, and dairy, as well as hormone and antibiotic free meats.  We serve only sustainable seafood and are a member of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Restaurant Program.  All our menu items are trans fat free.
